A year has passed since Tooru Honda joined the Souma household in the second season of Fruits Basket. Over this time, she has drawn nearer to Shigure, Kyou, and Yuki while forging connections with other family members. Tooru delves deeper into the Soumas' ancient secret, aiding them as they confront their personal struggles. Yet, as her bond with the family strengthens, she starts to suspect that the concealed truth is far more sinister than she first imagined. When summer arrives, Tooru is invited to spend her days with the Soumas, particularly Kyou and Yuki. While she hopes for a relaxing vacation, her deep ties to these boys and the wider family may bring complications. Amidst increasing closeness, their peaceful moments are interrupted by unresolved issues and resurfacing past emotions. The approaching Eternal Banquet further complicates things, requiring the zodiac members to fulfill their duties under the watchful eye of the ominous Akito Souma. With the banquet nearing and many emotions demanding attention, Tooru must face the possibility that her life with the Soumas might not remain tranquil but could instead trap her in an inescapable dilemma.

Centuries past, the spirits of the Chinese zodiac and their deity swore an eternal vow to remain united. This oath dictates that the Souma family members, each inhabited by a zodiac animal, are destined to reunite at any cost. Yet, these ties often transform into a heavy burden, denying them normal lives. Akito, the clan head, obsessively maintains that he holds a unique bond with the other Soumas, while the rest of the family endures isolation and the terror of punishment. Tooru Honda, having grown deeply attached to the Soumas, is resolved to shatter the curse binding them. Bolstered by her friends and her new family, she finds the strength to challenge the curse. However, shocking revelations threaten to undermine her determination. As time dwindles, Tooru must steer through an uncertain future, hoping to discover peace beyond the chaos.
