Summary
Ookami is the proprietor of Souma Hot Springs and the mother of Ritsu Souma, a monkey spirit. Sharing her son’s frail health, she suffers from a weak constitution and habitually offers profuse apologies for even the slightest inconveniences. Diverging from the attitudes of many parents raising cursed Soumas, she harbors genuine affection for her child and earnestly requests that Tooru become his friend. She also welcomes the other Zodiac members who frequent the hot springs. In the 2001 anime adaptation, her role is expanded significantly, as she narrates the events surrounding Yuki and Tooru’s visit to Ayame’s dress shop, frequently stumbling over her words and apologizing for her mistakes throughout the sequence.
