Souma, Akito
Summary
As the frail head of the Souma clan, Akito rarely leaves the main house, only stepping out to greet Zodiac members like Yuki and Shigure who reside in the outside world. He frequently suffers from fevers and possesses a cruel nature, having inflicted physical and emotional scars on many family members. Despite his weakness, his authority over the Souma clan is absolute, and no one dares to challenge him. Akito is believed to be under a curse that limits his lifespan to thirty years. At a specific stage in the Zodiac members' lives, he intends to force them to remain within the Souma compound with him indefinitely, describing himself as the "Master of their Souls." He harbors a deep hatred for Kyou Souma, the Cat, believing the latter should be isolated for life, and holds an intense dislike for Tooru, resenting the fact that everyone loves and protects her. In "Fruits Basket: The Last Story," he is voiced by Minagawa Junko in a commemorative voice comic.
