Synopsis

Continues the story of Kyou kara Maou! R

Following a calm stretch after the events of the main series, King Yuuri Shibuya travels to check on the state of his kingdom. Along the way, he meets Sararegi, the ruler of Small Shimeron. Despite Sararegi's friendly demeanor, there appears to be a concealed motive. When Yuuri goes back to Shimaron to unwind and catch up with old companions, the self-proclaimed "king" of Little Shimaron appears and insists that the Maou follow him to his land. Afterwards, the actual king of Shimaron alerts Yuuri's sibling and friend, warning them about the possible danger facing Yuuri.

In this installment

At the end of the second season, Yuuri defeats Shinou. But because Shinou was vanquished, Yuuri and Murata lost the ability to travel to Shin Makoku. However, since Yuuri fought and overcame Shinou, his own power exceeded that of Shinou, enabling him to return to Shin Makoku through his own strength. Following the coming-of-age ceremony at age sixteen, Yuuri slowly comes to realize that many changes took place while he was away. The ten officials of the noble family had decided to make Wolfram the next Maou, but now that Yuuri has returned and reclaimed his role as Maou, complications arise when one noble objects to Yuuri retaking the throne. Furthermore, an ancient secret society that endangers the peace of both humans and Mazoku has risen, and a conflict over the throne leaves the nobles questioning who the legitimate Maou truly is.
