Summary
Cecilie von Spitzberg, formerly known as the Maoh, is the mother of Wolfram, Conrad, and Gwendal, each of whom has a different father. Though she initially appears to be rather airheaded, she is actually highly astute, intelligent, and deeply caring. After being succeeded by Yuri, Cecilie enjoys an open schedule and pursues her "free and easy quest for love." She has expressed interest in Yuri, even as she remains one of his chief supporters regarding his engagement to her son Wolfram, as well as in his older brother Shori and her childhood friend Raven, whom she once wished to marry, much to her brother’s dismay. A powerful figure, Cecilie possesses admirable skill with the whip. In combat, she has the uncanny ability to quickly don red leather and a mask. This form and her prowess tend to intimidate enemies, who are usually unwilling to fight her again if they encounter her a second time. Cecilie enjoys growing new flower varieties in Blood Pledge Castle, naming them after her loved ones such as "Beautiful Wolfram," "Secret Gwendal," "Conrad Stands Upon the Earth," and "Cecille's Red Sigh." In season 3, she creates another bloom titled "Filled with Yuri's Naivete." Despite her cheerful demeanor, Cecilie handles situations with ease and effectiveness and cares deeply for her sons. She is devastated when Wolfram temporarily dies and spends the series striving to protect them without directly interfering. The name "Celi" is pronounced "Cheri" in Japanese, leading some fans to use "Cheri" while others prefer "Celi," which is accurately Romanized as "Tseri" or "tselli." Both spellings are acceptable and depend on personal preference.
