Kyou Kara Ma no Tsuku Jiyuugyou!
Yuuri Shibuya leads an ordinary high school life centered on baseball until he steps in to defend his classmate Ken Murata from bullies and ends up with his head shoved into a toilet. The toilet suddenly becomes a portal, dragging him into a different world. Surrounded by people in medieval clothes speaking a language he can't understand, Yuuri initially believes it's a theme park. But the locals grow afraid and begin throwing stones at him. Adalbert von Grantz appears and uses magic to let Yuuri understand them. Conrad Weller and Günter von Christ arrive to rescue him and bring him to Blood Pledge Castle, where the Demon King resides. There, Yuuri learns he is the new Maou, fated to rule over Shin Makoku, the True Demonic Kingdom. During an accident, Yuuri becomes engaged to Wolfram. As the series progresses, Yuuri wrestles with the effects of even his smallest decisions. Guided by an inner power, he transforms into a champion of justice in Shin Makoku.

Background
Kyou kara Ma no Tsuku Jiyuugyou! was published in English as Kyo Kara MAOH! by TokyoPop from October 14, 2008 to August 31, 2010 before dropping it after the seventh volume. The seven volumes were also published digitally by VIZ Media under the VIZ Select imprint from September 30, 2014 to March 24, 2015.
