Synopsis
The story of Persona 4 unfolds in the rural town of Inaba, where a series of strange murders have taken place, each occurring after heavy rain brings fog. Additionally, rumors circulate about a television channel that only appears at midnight, known as Mayonaka TV. It is said that gazing at the screen during this time reveals a person's other half. After learning about a recent unsolved killing that happened during the fog, Narukami, Chie, and Yosuke talk about how each of them tried to watch the mysterious channel and saw the murder victim on it. The protagonist then discovers that at midnight, while the channel is airing, he can physically pass through his television set, using it as a portal to a different world filled with shadows. Once they find this out, the group decides to investigate. On their first full entry into that realm, a bewildered Narukami encounters Teddie. The connection between Mayonaka TV and the town's murders becomes apparent, suggesting that the victims might simply be casualties of the channel. United by this theory, they resolve to work together to unravel the mystery by venturing into the hidden world behind Mayonaka TV.
