Namatame, Tarou
Summary
Serving as a city council secretary, Namatame was married to the celebrated enka singer Misuzu Hiiragi, though her rising fame placed significant strain on their union. While interviewing political candidates for an upcoming election, he struck up a connection with TV announcer Mayumi Yamano, discovering they both hailed from the town of Inaba. Bonding over their shared professional dedication, the two embarked on an intimate relationship. The affair was eventually exposed, sparking a scandal that destroyed Namatame’s career and ended his marriage. Both Namatame and Hiiragi stated that the singer elected to annul their marriage, prompting Namatame to flee back to his hometown. Although he was previously perceived as an outgoing and fun-loving individual—a side of him never actually shown in the game—his demeanor shifts dramatically when the protagonist interacts with him. In these encounters, he appears timid, speaking very little and constantly seeming frightened.
