Amagi, Yukiko

Summary

Yukiko Amagi is a sixteen-to-seventeen-year-old girl born on December 8, 1994, under the Sagittarius sign. Standing 164 cm tall with type O blood, she is an elegant yet introverted young woman with long, groomed black hair held back by a red hairband. Her attire typically consists of her school uniform blouse paired with a red cardigan, or alternatively, a pink yukata. She is often seen carrying a paper fan, which serves as her weapon in combat, or a red umbrella. Yukiko comes from a family that owns a renowned ryokan in the city. As the designated heir, she is constantly preparing to take over the business, a responsibility that makes her feel oppressed by her expected duties. Despite her refined exterior, she possesses a whimsical side and is prone to sudden fits of laughter. Her Persona, Konohana Sakuya, belongs to The Priestess Arcana and resembles a Tokusatsu heroine, dressed in an outfit similar to a high school cheerleader’s uniform. It is almost entirely pink and wields a pair of fans. Yukiko utilizes this Persona for healing and fire-based spells. Upon maxing out her Priestess Social Link, Konohana Sakuya evolves into Amaterasu. Yukiko’s Shadow manifests as a caged red lovebird with her hair, capable of summoning a prince-like shadow to aid it. This form symbolizes her resentment toward having her destiny predetermined as the heir to the Amagi Inn, as well as her desire to be rescued by her nakama, specifically Chie, whom she views as her "prince." She feels trapped in Inaba, a sentiment reflected in her Midnight Channel dungeon, which is a pink Romanesque castle filled with medieval furniture. During her Priestess Social Link, Yukiko expresses her wish to the protagonist to leave Inaba and pursue a career unrelated to managing the family inn. However, she eventually changes her mind upon realizing she cannot bring herself to abandon the family and employees who supported her, particularly after she decided to learn cooking. She also comes to understand that her fear and resentment stemmed not from the idea of inheriting the business itself, but from the fact that the decision was forced upon her by her family. Yukiko is one of the female characters with whom the protagonist can develop a romantic relationship. A younger version of Yukiko appears in Persona 3 Portable during a field trip to the Amagi Inn, where she interacts with Rio Iwasaki.
