Continues the story of One Piece: Episode of Luffy - Adventure on Hand Island
The story of the *Hand Island no Bouken* special takes place shortly before the events of *One Piece Film Z* and centers on a major incident involving "Hand Island" during the New World arc. It is set in "Cannon Town," where a parent and child work as craftspeople, with the incident revolving around them and a commodore at a marine base. The special also includes a flashback scene to the story from the first chapter of the manga, presented with new animation.

As they navigate the treacherous waters of the New World, the Straw Hat Pirates continue their search for the legendary treasure left behind by the Pirate King, Gol D. Roger—One Piece. Their journey brings them into contact with Z, a fearsome former Marine Admiral. Z is accused of stealing the "Dyna Stones," powerful weapons believed to be capable of wreaking havoc across the entire New World. The Marine Headquarters suspects that Z intends to use these stones to bring an end to the age of piracy, at the cost of countless innocent lives. Alarmed by this potential catastrophe, the Marines launch an operation to stop their former comrade. Despite the risk of clashing with the Marines and the Navy, the Straw Hat Pirates are determined to track down Z and put a stop to his devastating plan. As they continue their voyage, they encounter both new allies and familiar faces.
Background
A limited dual edition ticket for both One Piece Film: Z and Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods sold for the screenings of both movies at ¥2,600 the year they premiered, which contained special art by the mangaka of both series. Regular editions of the DVD/BD in Japan included one of nine different holographic stickers, while the deluxe edition included all nine stickers as well as other bonus material.
