Sakazuki, widely known as Admiral Akainu, stands as one of the three supreme Admirals in the world of One Piece, answering only to the Fleet Admiral. The meaning of his name translates to "Red Dog." Following the timeskip, he ascended to the position of Fleet Admiral, taking over from Sengoku. Akainu is a staunch adherent to "Absolute Justice," a philosophy so rigid that he ordered the destruction of a refugee vessel merely because there was a chance a scholar might have boarded it. He reasoned that the escape of even a single scholar from Ohara would constitute a mission failure, a stance that drew criticism from Aokiji, who labeled him a fool for his excessive methods. In his capacity as an Admiral, Akainu commands a vast array of Marine troops and possesses the authority to initiate a Buster Call on any island. Holding the same rank as Kizaru and Aokiji, he is presumed to possess combat abilities comparable to theirs.
