Sanji

Summary

Sanji serves as the chain-smoking chef for the Straw Hat Pirates, a position he assumed after leaving his former affiliation with the Baratie. Born in the North Blue and raised in the East Blue, he was mentored in both the culinary arts and combat by the renowned Chef "Red Leg" Zeff. His fighting style is unique, relying exclusively on powerful and varied kicking techniques to preserve the dexterity of his hands, which are essential for his world-class cooking abilities. He possesses no Devil Fruit powers. Personality-wise, Sanji is often serious, gruff, and impatient, particularly toward men, though he is known for his trash-talking. This demeanor shifts dramatically when interacting with women, where he becomes amorous and loses his composure, earning him the nickname "ero-cook" or perverted cook. He exhibits extreme chivalry, vowing never to let any woman suffer insult or injury while he is capable of standing, even if she is an enemy attempting to kill him. Consequently, he refuses to attack female opponents, preferring death over harming them. Despite this gentlemanly code, he enjoys voyeurism and admires women in skimpy clothing, traits he attributes to a strict upbringing. His ultimate life goal is to discover the All Blue, a legendary ocean containing all the world's fish, which he views as a paradise for a cook. His devotion to his craft is absolute; he respects the tools, ingredients, and art of cooking immensely and will not allow anyone, friend or foe, to starve. As the crew’s chef, he prioritizes the health of his nakama. While he respects Luffy as captain, he frequently clashes with him over Luffy’s excessive eating and irresponsible behavior. He maintains a bitter rivalry with Zoro, often insulting him as Marimo, yet they form a devastating team in battle. Sanji is highly protective of the female crew members, particularly Nami, who often exploits his servility for her own gain. Although he initially harbored intentions to cook Tony Tony Chopper, he has since come to respect him as a friend and crewmate. He also shares a strong friendship with Usopp, understanding him well and frequently teaming up with him. Ultimately, Sanji cares deeply for his crew, expressing his loyalty more openly than Zoro does.
