One Piece: Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Island

Synopsis

Upon seeing an advertisement for Omatsuri Island, the exclusive getaway location on the Grand Line, Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates set sail with excitement, lured by the prospect of casinos, spas, beautiful women, and exquisite cuisine. Their anticipation grows as they approach the island, only to be greeted with the challenge of surviving Baron Omatsuri's "Ordeals of Hell" before gaining access to the resort's amenities. As they face these trials, bizarre events begin to stir discord among the crew, causing tensions to rise. The Straw Hat Pirates must unravel the mystery behind Omatsuri Island before their internal conflicts destroy their unity.

Background

Released on March 5, 2005, One Piece Movie 6: Omatsuri Danshaku to Himitsu no Shima is the sixth animated feature film of the One Piece franchise. Unlike the long running anime series, this movie is drawn in the unique style of its director Mamoru Hosoda. Hosoda is best known for directing films such as Mirai no Mirai, Summer Wars, and Ookami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki among many others. The movie placed third in Japanese Box Office sales its first week in theaters, falling behind Lorelei: The Witch of the Pacific Ocean in first and Shark Tale in second. The movie remained in the Top 10 of the Japanese Box Office for a total of 6 weeks.
