Roronoa, Zoro

Summary

Roronoa Zoro serves as the Straw Hat Pirates’ swordsman and was the very first member recruited by Luffy. Standing at 178 cm, he grew to 181 cm after the timeskip. Born on November 11 under the sign of Scorpio, he does not consume Devil Fruit power. Zoro utilizes a unique fighting style called Santoryu, which involves wielding three katanas simultaneously by holding one in each hand and the third in his mouth, though he occasionally fights with only one or two blades. He typically ties his bandana, usually worn on his arm, to his head when engaged in serious combat. Although not a samurai, Zoro exhibits a degree of Bushido and is frequently mistaken for one. Unlike Luffy and most of his crewmates, he is willing to kill opponents when necessary, though never in cold blood. His personality is stern, serious, and distant, yet he often reacts in a goofy, exaggerated comic manner due to his gruff and impatient nature. On the ship, he usually spends his time training with weights or sleeping, with the only regular chore being hoisting the anchor using his immense strength. Zoro has a profound love for sake, comparable to Luffy’s love for meat, but his inhumanly high tolerance prevents him from ever getting drunk, similar to Nami. A notable flaw is his complete lack of orientation; he frequently gets lost, even in small, familiar spaces or when being guided by others. Despite this, he possesses keen awareness, often being the first to detect enemies or danger and the first to react. He frequently points out harsh realities to the crew, which may shock them but usually proves correct. Zoro identifies as an atheist, believing only in himself. While he appears arrogant and overconfident, this stems from his knowledge of his own strength. He recognizes his untapped potential and is constantly training to improve. He adheres to a strict code of honor, refusing to lie about his abilities or falsely brag, sometimes even admitting weaknesses to enemies. He views escaping fights or using trickery as cowardly and scornful of those who employ such tactics. Ultimately, Zoro is vigorous, strong-willed, and determined.
