Summary

Borsalino, better known as Admiral Kizaru, serves as one of the three top-ranking officers in the Marines. His current title translates to "Yellow Monkey," but he prefers his original name, Borsalino, a preference demonstrated when he answered a call from Sentoumaru by identifying himself as such rather than using his alias. He was initially referenced by Robin during her first meeting with Aokiji. Physically, Kizaru is a tall, middle-aged man with moderate facial wrinkles, standing approximately the same height as Aokiji. His design bears a resemblance to the famous Japanese actor Kunie Tanaka. He typically wears a yellow striped suit beneath the standard Marine coat, along with sunglasses and a portable Den Den Mushi on his wrist. Kizaru’s personality blends the laid-back nature of Aokiji with the ruthlessness of Akainu. He is exceptionally calm and easygoing, rarely showing shock even in surprising situations. For instance, when a pirate fired a gunshot at him, he remained focused on calling his subordinate and did not seem to mind the attack. He is also capable of laughing at his own excessive force, such as when he uprooted an entire mangrove tree to catch escaping pirates. Despite this cool demeanor, he can be absent-minded and irresponsible, evidenced by his use of a black Den Den Mushi, which is reserved for intercepting communications, to contact Sentoumaru. He remains composed during tense moments, such as when Basil Hawkins survived an attack or when Rayleigh appeared. In contrast to his casual exterior, Kizaru exhibits a ruthless side similar to Akainu. He shows little mercy to criminals, particularly pirates, once he has targeted them. He attempted to capture Silvers Rayleigh, who had retired from piracy over twenty years prior, solely because Rayleigh was the first mate of the Jolly Roger Pirates. Following the events at Sabaody Archipelago, Kizaru captured 500 pirates out of spite. Like Smoker and Sengoku, he views the Shichibukai as nothing more than pirates, regardless of their allegiance to the World Government. As an Admiral, he commands vast numbers of Marine troops and holds the authority to order a Buster Call on any island. Kizaru possesses the powers of the Pika Pika no Mi, a Logia-type Devil Fruit that grants him the abilities of light. This allows him to let objects pass through his body and reconstruct himself from light particles. He moves at the speed of light, and all his attacks are based on this element, including firing energy blasts from his fingertips or feet. His power is highly destructive, capable of causing massive explosions and easily destroying buildings. Additionally, Kizaru demonstrates considerable skill with a sword, managing to duel Silvers Rayleigh to a draw despite losing his intangibility during the fight.
