Hayate the Combat Butler

Synopsis

A constant stream of misfortune plagues diligent Hayate Ayasaki, as if Murphy's Law itself dictates his life. After his parents rack up a debt exceeding 150 million yen and abandon him, he is sold to the yakuza, forcing him to flee for his survival. That same night, Hayate encounters a young girl named Nagi Sanzenin and attempts to kidnap her in order to settle his family's crushing debt. Thanks to Hayate's gentle disposition and a series of misunderstandings, Nagi misreads his intentions as a romantic confession. After he rescues her from genuine kidnappers, she employs him as her personal butler, revealing that she belongs to one of the wealthiest families in Japan. Despite his impressive talents, Hayate is plagued by endless bad luck. As he begins working for Nagi and navigating the countless challenges that come his way, he manages the household, fights off dangerous adversaries, and inadvertently wins the affections of the women around him. This combination of butler duties and comedic mishaps forms the story of Hayate the Combat Butler.
