Continues the story of Star Blazers: The Quest for Iscandar
In 2199, Earth suffers catastrophic damage from a brutal assault by the Gamilas Empire. The remaining humans seek shelter underground, but the relentless spread of radiation threatens to consume their refuge within a year. Just as hope fades, a desperate message from the distant planet Iscandar, located in a neighboring galaxy, offers a chance at salvation. In secret, Earth's Self Defense Force develops a revolutionary super-speed engine capable of reaching that far-off world. The old World War II battleship Yamato is then refitted with advanced weaponry and staffed by a courageous crew, transforming it into the Space Battleship Yamato. Their dangerous mission: crossing the galaxy to rescue humanity from total annihilation.

One year after the Star Force's successful return to save Earth, a new menace emerges from deep space. A massive White Comet speeds toward the galaxy, annihilating everything in its path. This comet is no ordinary celestial object—it is the sinister Comet Empire, a merciless conqueror of planets, and Earth is its next target. Despite being ordered not to, the Star Force launches an investigation. However, even if they defeat the powerful flagship Andromeda, they remain unsure of their new enemy's true motives.
