Continues the story of Initial D Fifth Stage
After their victories in Tochigi, Saitama, and Ibaraki, Project D—an amateur street racing team led by tactical mastermind Ryousuke Takahashi, with key members Takumi Fujiwara and Keisuke Takahashi—now faces a fresh challenge in Kanagawa, a region known as the heartland of street racing. Their opponents, consisting of Kanagawa's top three street racing teams, have put together an intricate plan called the "Four Lines of Defense" aimed at stopping Project D's progress. Takumi, aware that he needs to improve his driving skills after a close win over Toshiya Joushima, works on getting better. As Project D gets ready to defend Gunma Prefecture's pride, they must take on Kanagawa's skilled racers and their unexpected tactics. Can they overcome these new challenges and keep their winning streak going?

In the final showdown against the Kanagawa-based street racing crew Sidewinder, Project D racer Takumi Fujiwara faces an unforeseen challenger: Shinji Inui, a 17-year-old high school student. With a background that includes early exposure to driving, Shinji possesses extensive knowledge of the mountain route where the competition unfolds, and he too pilots a Toyota AE86, identical to Takumi's vehicle. Initially unenthusiastic and hesitant to engage, Shinji finds renewed motivation after witnessing the fierce contest between Keisuke Takahashi and Gou Houjou. As an undefeated driver on his home territory, the Tsubaki Line, Shinji represents a formidable adversary for Takumi.
