Synopsis
In the concluding race against the Kanagawa-based street racing team Sidewinder, Project D driver Takumi Fujiwara encounters an unexpected rival: Shinji Inui, a 17-year-old high school student. Having started driving at a very young age, Shinji is intimately familiar with the mountain pass where the match takes place and also drives a Toyota AE86—the same model as Takumi's car. Initially lacking enthusiasm and reluctant to compete, Shinji becomes motivated after watching the intense battle between Keisuke Takahashi and Gou Houjou. Undefeated on his home course, the Tsubaki Line, Shinji may turn out to be Takumi's toughest challenge yet.
