Summary
Shinji Inui serves as the downhill driver for the Sidewinder team. Although he appears to be a young boy, possibly even younger than Takumi, he displays a high level of intelligence. His character shares significant parallels with Takumi, particularly in his complete lack of interest in racing and the fact that he had been driving for years before officially obtaining his license. He pilots a notchback coupe variant of the AE86 Trueno, a vehicle that previously belonged to his deceased father. It is important to note that his car is distinct from Takumi’s Eight-Six. Shinji is the third character in the series to drive a Toyota AE86 model, following Wataru’s Levin AE86.
