Synopsis

Following the debut of the revolutionary NerveGear device, gamers around the globe gained the power to fully immerse themselves in virtual reality. Among its most celebrated titles is Sword Art Online (SAO), which transports players to the vast, medieval realm of Aincrad, offering limitless possibilities bounded only by one's imagination. With the game's worldwide launch, virtual reality gaming achieved unprecedented realism. This ideal fantasy swiftly descends into a terrifying nightmare when SAO's creator imprisons thousands of players within the game. The logout function has been disabled, and the sole path to escape requires clearing all one hundred increasingly perilous floors of Aincrad. To make matters worse, dying in the game results in death in the real world. Kazuto "Kirito" Kirigaya, a former beta tester, soon realizes that even his prior experience is not enough to face SAO alone. Joining forces with Asuna Yuuki and other skilled players, he endeavors to conquer the seemingly insurmountable challenges ahead.
