Summary

Ryoutarou Tsuboi is a friendly player who befriends Kirito early on and quickly learns from him. They eventually part ways because Tsuboi refuses to abandon his other friends who are also new to the game. He survives for two years, successfully protecting his companions, a feat that Kirito regrets not achieving for himself. As a katana user and the leader of the small guild Fuurinkazan, Tsuboi actively participates in boss battles. He is one of the few people close to Kirito, often keeping him in check and urging him to survive the game. Additionally, Tsuboi chose the Salamader race in Alfheim Online.
