Sidonia no Kishi
In a future a thousand years hence, the Gauna, an alien species, have obliterated Earth. The remnants of humanity now live aboard vast starships, continually threatened by these enigmatic beings. To combat them, they utilize mobile weapons known as Gardes, capable of destroying the Gauna's cores and stopping the regeneration of their protective shells. On the spaceship Sidonia, Nagate Tanikaze, a young boy, ventures out for the first time after spending his entire life in isolation, training on pilot simulators deep within the vessel. His extensive preparation makes him an asset to the human defense efforts. Given the opportunity to pilot the famed Garde Tsugumori, Nagate fights to protect Sidonia against the looming peril.

Sidonia no Kishi won the 39th Kodansha Manga Award in the general category in 2015. It also won the 47th Seiun Award for Best Comic in 2016.
