Taichi Yagami, known as Tai Kamiya in the English localization, is a central figure from the Digimon Adventure and Digimon Adventure 02 anime series, as well as the Digimon Adventure V-Tamer 01 manga. Born in 1988, his age progresses from seven during the first movie to twenty-two by the time of Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna. He is the older brother of Kari Kamiya. Tai is defined by his adventurous, carefree, and somewhat naive personality, often displaying rashness and stubbornness that leads to friction with his comrades. This trait frequently clashes with his best friend Matt Ishida and causes tension with Sora Takenouchi and his Digimon partner Agumon, though he ultimately strives to rectify his mistakes and protect his loved ones. A distinctive feature of his appearance is his goggles worn over a blue headband, marking him as a leader among the DigiDestined.
