Synopsis

Continues the story of Digimon Adventure 02

Taichi Yagami and his friends have entered junior high and grown apart from their Digimon partners. A distress signal from the Digital World brings Taichi back, where he discovers that Digimon are terrified of the Digimon Emperor, who has discovered a way to prevent Digivolution. Back in the real world, Hikari Yagami and Takeru Takaishi are now in the same fifth-grade class. Their classmates include Daisuke Motomiya, who reminds them of Taichi; Miyako Inoue, a tech prodigy; and Iori Hida, Miyako's neighbor. These three receive new D-3 Digivices and, together with Hikari and Takeru, who still have their original devices, become the next group of Chosen Children. Using the power of Armored Digi-Eggs, they set out to stop the Digimon Emperor from taking over the entire Digital World.

In this installment

Following the conclusion of 02, life is finally returning to normal until a strangely familiar icon begins appearing on computer systems throughout Japan. The phenomenon spreads beyond computers to TVs, mobile phones, and video games; any device with a screen and online capabilities displays the symbol. This icon seems specifically targeted at Yagami Taichi and Ishida Yamato, the pair who defeated it years ago. The culprit is revealed to be Diablomon, the Virus-type Digimon and jellyfish creature vanquished in the second movie. However, this time Diablomon has learned to manifest physically and is dispatching thousands of copies into the real world. Koushiro and Ken formulate a strategy to eradicate the virus permanently, though the plan requires the assistance of all the Destined, both past and present. Once again, a race against time begins to halt Diablomon's scheme, yet the situation remains shrouded in shadow. Will the revival of Omagamon suffice to stop Diablomon a second time, or will the millions of copies provide enough of a power boost to withstand the "Digimon Champion of Justice"? Furthermore, the villain has yet to encounter the new breed of Chosen or their new techniques. It is a fight to the finish with the destruction of Tokyo hanging in the balance.
