Summary

Takaishi Takeru is the youngest of the original Chosen Children. He is portrayed as gentle, sweet-natured, and generous, often following the group’s lead without complaint. Hikari Yagami is considered his equal. Initially, he is the only Chosen Child not attending the same school as the others because he lives in Sangenjaya rather than Odaiba. He is the younger brother of Yamato but resides with their mother, journalist Natsuko Takaishi, following his parents' divorce. Although he does not clearly remember the separation, he is affected by it and avoids discussing it openly. Despite the distance from Yamato, he admires him greatly and strives to be brave to impress him, though he gradually opens up to the other Chosen Children, particularly Taichi. In Digimon Adventure 02, Takeru and his mother move to an apartment in Odaiba, becoming neighbors with Iori Hida and Miyako Inoue. Although he has grown significantly taller, his personality remains unchanged, making him popular with the girls at school. He is also described as having inherited Yamato's reliability and becomes the star player on his school's basketball team.
