Synopsis
Continues the story of Fate/Zero Season 2
As the Fourth Holy Grail War drags on without a clear winner, Church supervisor Risei Kotomine summons the remaining Masters and Servants to form a temporary alliance against an emerging threat that could derail the conflict and devastate Fuyuki City. Yet this fragile truce quickly collapses as the Masters resort to any ruthless tactic required to secure their triumph. Tensions mount between Kiritsugu Emiya and his Servant Saber, their relationship fraying under the weight of clashing views on heroism and morality. Simultaneously, a dark connection develops between Kirei Kotomine, still searching for his purpose, and another Servant. As the war approaches its climax, the price of victory begins to blur the distinction between winning and losing.
In this installment
Seven magi and their summoned Servants engage in a brutal Holy Grail War, each vying for a mystical artifact capable of granting any wish. Ten years prior, the Fourth Holy Grail War in Fuyuki City resulted in massive destruction and the deaths of over five hundred people. Shirou Emiya, a survivor of that catastrophe, aspires to follow the path of his adoptive father and savior, Kiritsugu Emiya, becoming a champion of justice. Although merely a student, Shirou is drawn into the Fifth Holy Grail War after witnessing a Servant battle at school and subsequently summoning Saber. When a malevolent force begins slaughtering civilians in Fuyuki, Shirou joins forces with Rin Toosaka, another participant in the War, to halt the killings. However, his deep bond with his close friend Sakura Matou pulls him further into the dark secrets of the War and the feuding families entangled within it.
