Summary

Born on February 3, Rin Toosaka is a human Mage affiliated with Homurahara Academy’s second-year Class A. Standing at 159 cm with a blood type of O, she serves as a model student and idol figure at her school, though she prefers solitude, often avoiding peers by staying on the rooftop. Secretly, she is a Master in the Fifth Holy Grail War who summons the Servant Archer, despite originally intending to summon Saber. Raised as the heir to her family’s magecraft, she was taught by her father, Tokiomi Toosaka, to prioritize sorcery above her personal interests. Her dislikes include electronics, while she enjoys her father’s praise, polishing jewelry, and teasing Shirou. The Toosaka lineage played a pivotal role in establishing the Fuyuki Holy Grail Wars two centuries ago. Rin’s ancestor, Nagato Toosaka, a kirishitan and pupil of Zelretch, provided his Fuyuki estate, which held the second highest spiritual power in Japan, as the battleground. This connection granted the family immunity from harassment by the Mage’s Association and the Church. Following Tokiomi’s death in the Fourth Holy Grail War, Rin was left to manage the estate under the guardianship of Kirei Kotomine, who also cared for her debilitated mother, Aoi. Kirei’s negligent management of the family assets led to significant financial losses, potentially due to his adherence to principles of humility. Despite resenting the sacrifices demanded by tradition, Rin is fiercely competitive and determined to prove her capabilities as a Magus. She initially clashed with Archer after summoning him but eventually reconciled with him. Outside her magical duties, she strives to earn peer admiration to mask her true nature, which includes being stingy, tomboyish, and a slacker. Her worldview is summarized by the belief that ruling the world is inherent in valuing it, stating, "The world is just another word for the things you value around you, right? That's something I've had since I was born. If you tell me to rule such a world, I already rule it."
