In the Holy Grail War, seven mages known as Masters fight in a battle royale by commanding Heroic Spirits called Servants through command seals. During the Fifth Holy Grail War, Rin Toosaka competes to claim the Holy Grail, a potent artifact capable of granting any wish, with the support of her Servant, Archer. Shirou Emiya, a classmate of Rin's, is accidentally pulled into the conflict and acquires his own Servant, Saber. Confronted by shared foes, Rin and Shirou choose to form a temporary alliance to face their adversaries in the Holy Grail War.

In this installment

In the midst of the Fifth Holy Grail War, Caster advances her plot by capturing Shirou's Servant, Saber. Realizing the witch's growing strength, Rin and Archer conclude that she must be eliminated. Yet, as the balance of power in the war shifts, the bond between Shirou and Rin starts to fray. Although injured and separated from Saber, Shirou disregards Rin's counsel to retreat and instead chooses to face Caster head-on. Driven to demonstrate his resolve to fight, he pushes his latent ability to protect others to the breaking point. As violence and chaos escalate, the true motivations of every Master and Servant are slowly revealed. Each participant gambles everything in their desperate bid to conquer the war and claim the Holy Grail.
