Emiya, Kiritsugu

Summary

Born on November 11, 1965, Kiritsugu Emiya stands 175 cm tall with an AB blood type. He is a human magus and master, classified as a Freelancer, who values efficiency above all else. His preferred combat style involves shooting and destruction, utilizing a variety of firearms including a Thompson Contender chambered in .30-06 Springfield, a Calico M950 submachine gun, and a Walther WA2000 sniper rifle fitted with AN/PVS4 thermal optics. These weapons are often used in conjunction with his Mystic Code Origin Bullets. He is also associated with the Servant Saber. Kiritsugu’s early life was defined by tragedy and displacement. His father, Norikata Emiya, was the fourth family head of the Emiya lineage and a magus who had received a Sealing Designation. Following his mother’s death shortly after his birth, Kiritsugu and Norikata were forced into hiding from the Mage's Association, leading Kiritsugu to spend his youth wandering the world with his father. Before becoming Shirou’s foster father and savior from the ruins of the massive Fuyuki fire, Kiritsugu was notorious as the "Magus Killer." He operated as a freelancer who hunted down heretical magi. Although he possessed Magic Circuits and magecraft abilities, he was considered unorthodox for relying heavily on modern technology and weaponry alongside his magical arts to track and eliminate his targets. In Fate/stay night, Kiritsugu appears primarily in flashbacks and mentions, but he serves as one of the main protagonists in the prequel Fate/Zero. During his lifetime, he became disillusioned with the ideal of becoming a Hero of Justice, realizing that a defender of humanity who could save everyone was an impossible dream. Despite feeling he had failed in his quest, his efforts and sacrifices served as a profound source of inspiration for Shirou. His defining philosophy is captured in his famous quote: "Even if I am to carry 'all the evils of this world,' it won't matter. If that can save the world, then I'd gladly accept it."
