Summary

Zouken Matou is an ancient, formidable, and calculating sorcerer who serves as the patriarch of the Matou family. He is the grandfather of Shinji and Sakura. Although he possesses a vast repository of magical knowledge, his teaching methods are severe and unforgiving. Zouken views Shinji as a disgraceful magician and is convinced that Sakura holds greater potential than her brother.
