Synopsis

Continues the story of Mysterious Play OVA 2

After being reborn as Taka Sukunami in the real world, Tamahome reunites with Miaka Yuuki, and their romantic relationship rekindles. But their happiness is cut short when a resentful transfer student, Ren Shigyou, appears and incites others to oppose them. During a confrontation orchestrated by Shigyou's followers, Miaka and Taka fall from the school rooftop into a mysterious red light, which carries them back to the Universe of the Four Gods. There, they discover that a malevolent demon is responsible for the recent upheavals. Furthermore, Taka learns that unless he retrieves memories hidden inside seven jewels, he will cease to exist. Teaming up with their former companions, Miaka and Taka set out on a desperate mission to collect the gems before their time runs out.

In this installment

After many years of trials that tested their bond, Miaka Yuuki and Taka Sukunami have married and are now expecting a child, which represents the height of their unbreakable relationship. However, not everyone celebrates their happiness; Taka's student Mayo Sakaki secretly loves him and cannot stand seeing them so content. When she discovers The Universe of the Four Gods, Mayo realizes this ancient book is the key to Miaka and Taka's former identities as the Suzaku priestess and the celestial warrior Tamahome. Driven by her own desires, Mayo enters the book intending to replace Miaka as Suzaku's priestess and change their fate to suit her goals. Her actions soon cause severe consequences. As Miaka falls into a coma at the hospital, Taka ventures into The Universe of the Four Gods to stop Mayo's schemes and protect his wife and unborn child.
