Umineko: When They Cry

Synopsis

As the third entry in 07th Expansion's acclaimed "When They Cry" series, Umineko no Naku Koro ni is set on Rokkenjima (六軒島), an island owned by the extremely wealthy Ushiromiya clan. Every year, the whole family gathers there for a meeting to review each member's financial standing. This year, owing to the family patriarch's failing health, the discussion centers on the inheritance of the head of the family and how it will be split. What the family does not realize is that dividing up his fortune is the last thing on Ushiromiya Kinzo's mind for this year's gathering. When his old friend and doctor tells him that death is near, Kinzo becomes desperate to see the love of his life one final time: the Golden Witch, Beatrice. Having spent many of his later years engrossed in black magic, Kinzo sets in motion a ritual to bring his beloved back to life just as his relatives arrive on Rokkenjima. Not long afterward, a fierce typhoon strands the family on the island, and a series of inexplicable killings begin, leaving the eighteen people trapped there to struggle for survival in a deadly contest between fantasy and reality.
