Summary

Kinzo Ushiromiya, born on August 17 with blood type O, is the elderly patriarch of the Ushiromiya family and the proprietor of Rokkenjima. His preferences include chess, alcohol, Western wine, books, and tending to his roses, while he harbors a deep disdain for incompetence, defeat, and hot-blooded men who act recklessly. Kinzo holds his children in utter contempt, regarding them as vultures eager to devour his inheritance the moment his death becomes public knowledge. He rarely exits his massive study, a self-contained suite equipped with a bed, bathroom, and bath. An ardent practitioner of black magic and the occult, his shelves are packed with numerous grimoires. His most significant fixation is Beatrice, a witch he allegedly summoned and bound through a contract worth ten tons of gold.
