Summary
As the daughter of the financially strained Sumadera family and the younger sibling of Kyrie, Kasumi lived a life of indulgence befitting a spoiled princess while her sister was the designated heiress. However, when Kyrie severed all connections with her birth family upon marrying into the Ushiromiya clan, Kasumi was abruptly thrust into the role of the new Sumadera heiress. Resentful of this sudden burden, she harbors deep hatred for Kyrie and extends that animosity to Kyrie’s daughter, Ange. Although Kasumi presents herself as more open and generous than her sister, this demeanor fails to conceal her toxic envy. During the events of 1998, she engages in an internal power struggle over control of the vast fortune Ange inherits as head of the Ushiromiya family, hoping that killing Ange will help purge her lingering rage toward the deceased Kyrie. On Rokkenjima, near the conclusion of Alliance of the Golden Witch, Kasumi and her subordinates confront Ange, ridiculing her magical studies and destroying Maria’s diary while appearing to be under the influence of Eva-Beatrice. Ultimately, Kasumi and her group meet a mysterious demise, reportedly caused by the Stakes of Purgatory summoned by Ange in response to Kasumi’s challenge to prove the existence of magic.
