In their second year at First High School, the top institution for magicians, Tatsuya and Miyuki Shiba are famous for their incredible abilities. Their present close relationship makes it hard to imagine that four years earlier, they were far apart. First High School, a renowned academy for aspiring magicians, segregates its student body into two factions based on entrance exam results: the high-scoring "Blooms" who join the First Course, and the "Weeds" who are assigned to the Second Course. The narrative centers on siblings Tatsuya and Miyuki Shiba as they enroll at First High School. Following their examinations, Miyuki's extraordinary aptitude earns her a place in the First Course, whereas Tatsuya is demoted to the Second Course as a "Weed" due to his lackluster practical performance. Despite this classification, Tatsuya harbors profound theoretical insight, exceptional martial arts skills, and distinct magical capabilities, establishing him as a true irregular within this structured magical society.
