In the distant future, on an unremarkable planet, humans have been fighting a long war against mechanical aristocrats called Hyperion. The story follows Drossel, a Hyperion and the daughter of Duke von Flügel, along with her butler Gedächtnis, as they live in the Tower of Tempest, isolated from the rest of the world. Their daily routine consists of dealing with various troubles that arise in their towering castle-tower while they wait for the day the stars realign themselves.
