Vigilante: Boku no Hero Academia Illegals

In a world where superhuman abilities are common, standing out is difficult, especially since most recognition goes to official heroes who legally use their Quirks for justice. Kouichi Haimawari dreamed of becoming a hero, but his underwhelming "Sliding" Quirk, which does not let him fly, made him realize he could only admire heroes from afar. Still, he finds satisfaction in performing small good deeds each day with his power, like retrieving lost items or helping the elderly. His quiet life changes suddenly when he is rescued during a street fight by Knuckleduster, an unauthorized hero called a Vigilante. Seeing Kouichi's heroic spirit, Knuckleduster recruits him to investigate the origins of a dangerous substance named Trigger, which boosts a user's Quirk but harms their mental stability. This prequel to the main story, titled "My Hero Academia: Vigilantes," follows Kouichi's journey as he takes on the role of a Vigilante, operating outside the law to fight crime in secret.

VIZ Media released the series in print from July 3, 2018, to October 10, 2023. It was also released in Spanish by Planeta Cómic from October 15, 2019, to April 26, 2023.
