In a world where curses and supernatural beings threaten humanity, Jujutsu sorcerers use their magical abilities to defend society. High school student Yuuji Itadori comes across a dried finger belonging to the legendary curse Sukuna Ryoumen, pulling him into a dangerous conflict. After being attacked by a curse unleashed by the finger's power, Yuuji makes a bold choice to protect himself, gaining the ability to fight curses but also accidentally releasing the malevolent Sukuna into the world again. Despite his new strength, the Jujutsu community sees Yuuji as a high-risk curse that must be eliminated. Condemned to death after his capture, Yuuji meets Satoru Gojou, a teacher at Jujutsu High School, who presents an alternative path. Since Yuuji is a rare vessel for Sukuna, if he were to die, Sukuna would also disappear. By consuming the rest of Sukuna's fragments, Yuuji's eventual execution would completely destroy the evil entity. Seizing this chance to protect the world and extend his life, Yuuji joins Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School, stepping into a harsh and unforgiving battlefield.

Background
As a part of the JUMP START initiative, the first three chapters of Jujutsu Kaisen were published in English in VIZ Media's digital Weekly Shonen Jump on the same day as the Japanese release. After, the series was added to the MANGA Plus simulpub service, and was released in print by the same publisher from December 3, 2019, to May 12, 2026. It has also been released in Brazilian Portuguese by Panini Comics since August 21, 2020; and in Polish by Waneko since May 5, 2021.
