Tokyo Ghoul
東京喰種トーキョーグール
In the hidden corners of Tokyo, monstrous beings called ghouls prey on humans under the cover of darkness. To combat these threats, an agency named the Commission of Counter Ghoul (CCG) was established with the mission of eradicating ghouls. However, identifying ghouls is challenging since they seamlessly integrate into human society. Ken Kaneki, a typical university student, unwittingly becomes embroiled in the human-ghoul conflict when his date reveals her true ghoul identity, intent on consuming him. Rescued from near death and hospitalized, Kaneki discovers that the surgical intervention has transformed him into a half-ghoul. Desperately seeking to quench his insatiable craving for human flesh, he finds refuge with compassionate ghouls who run a café, aiding him in adapting to his altered state. Believing he can lead a quiet life, Kaneki is unaware that his presence will soon ignite a conflict between his new companions and the CCG, and that his new form has caught the attention of other ghouls throughout Tokyo.
