Summary

Kouichirou Iketani is the twenty-one-year-old leader of the Speedstars, a racing team he leads with immense pride and a genuine care for his members and even certain opponents. Behind the wheel of his 1988 Nissan Silvia K's (S13), he possesses driving skills that are admittedly weak, often becoming frightened when his car begins to skid. Despite not knowing how to drift, he is actively practicing the back-brake-skid technique and is determined to overcome his fears to improve. Iketani shares a workplace with Takumi and Itsuki at the Esso gas station, where he enjoys talking about cars endlessly. Because he is older and often looks out for the younger drivers, Takumi and Itsuki frequently address him as senpai. While he tends to be dense regarding romantic matters, particularly in his relationship with Mako, and prone to jumping to premature conclusions, he learns quickly from his errors. Under intense pressure, he strives to remain calm and collected.
