Summary

Gokuu is a perpetually hungry, energetic, and playful figure who serves as Sanzou’s constant companion, viewing him as the 'sun' around which his world revolves. Although he appears to be an eighteen-year-old human, his true nature is that of a heretic born from the Earth itself, rather than a demon or a human. He possesses immense speed and strength, utilizing his nyoibou, an extendable staff, to battle demons. During the journey, he frequently exchanges insults with Gojyo or engages in fights with him over food. The diadem adorning Gokuu’s head acts as a limiter to suppress his true form, the Seiten Taisei, or the Sage Equal to Heaven. In this state, he becomes incredibly powerful and nearly unstoppable, though he typically loses the ability to distinguish friend from foe, often directing his attacks toward his companions. Sanzou retains the capability to conjure Gokuu's limiter back into place should it break.
