Takeuchi, Itsuki

Summary

Itsuki Takeuchi is an eighteen-year-old who turns nineteen during the events of Project D. Standing at 162.6 cm tall and weighing 54.9 kg, he is Takumi’s best friend and a dedicated member of the Akina SpeedStars. Often serving as the comic relief in the series, Itsuki is the most enthusiastic participant in the street racing scene, with a particular fondness for Taiwanese bananas, races, and race cars. He holds a strong disdain for FDS, automatic transmissions, and diesel vehicles. Eager to emulate Takumi, Itsuki mistakenly purchases a Toyota Corolla Levin SR (AE85) in High Tech White, believing it to be an Eight-Six. He is initially devastated by the error until Takumi takes him for a drive, proving through a downhill race that driver skill can overcome machine limitations. Fully embracing his status as a self-proclaimed member of the Akina SpeedStars, Itsuki later enhances his AE85 by adding a turbocharger.
