Synopsis
Continues the story of Shugo Chara!
In Shugo Chara!, Amu Hinamori is a shy girl struggling to make friends because of rumors at school about her supposedly "cool and spicy" nature. She longs to reveal her authentic self to others. One morning, she discovers three elaborately adorned eggs in her bed. These "Heart Eggs" house "Guardian Characters," which embody a person's true self and aspirations. With the assistance of Ran, Miki, and Su, Amu can now display her genuine personality. However, this newfound ability does not come without its challenges. The emergence of Amu's Guardian Characters catches the attention of the Seiyo Elementary Guardians, a student council-like assembly where every member wields their own Guardian Character. Due to possessing multiple Characters, Amu is recruited as the Guardians' "Joker," with the duty of aiding them in locating corrupted Heart Eggs known as "X Eggs." As Amu integrates herself into the Guardians' quest, she delves deeper into understanding the enigmatic world of Guardian Characters, the origins of the X Eggs, and the secretive organization seemingly orchestrating these events.
In this installment
In "Shugo Chara!! Doki," Amu Hinamori and the other Seiyo Elementary Guardians continue their mission to locate and cleanse X Eggs while searching for the legendary Embryo, an object said to grant any wish. Their efforts are complicated by the need to secure the Embryo before the villainous Easter Corporation can obtain it. To draw out the Embryo, Easter enlists Lulu de Morcerf, a distant girl who wields a ruby pendant capable of transforming Heart Eggs into mysterious Mystery Eggs. Unlike X Eggs, these Mystery Eggs resist purification and can force their owners to undergo Character Transformations. As this new threat grows, the Guardians must trace its origin and stop it before the situation spirals out of control. Can they retrieve the Embryo and handle the rising danger of the Mystery Eggs under such intense pressure?

Shugo Chara!! Doki was released by Pony Canyon in 16 compilation DVDs, each containing three to four episodes, from June 17, 2009, to September 15, 2010. The series was dubbed in Italian by LOGOS srl.
