Synopsis
In Toradora!, Ryuuji Takasu is a high school student known for his kind nature and domestic skills, yet his threatening appearance frequently causes others to misidentify him as a delinquent. In contrast, Taiga Aisaka is a petite, doll-like girl whose aggressive demeanor and use of a wooden katana have secured her the moniker "Palmtop Tiger." Following several awkward run-ins, Ryuuji discovers that Taiga harbors feelings for Yusaku Kitamura, the popular student council vice president and his own close friend. Matters become even more tangled when Ryuuji confesses his attraction to Minori Kushieda, who happens to be Taiga's best friend. The narrative tracks these two improbable allies as they form an agreement to assist one another in winning over their respective crushes, weaving a story brimming with romance and comedy.
Background
Toradora! was selected as a recommended work by the awards jury of the 13th Japan Media Arts Festival in 2009. The light novel was also adapted into a video game for PlayStation Portable, released only in Japan and published by Namco Bandai Games in 2009.
