Discotek’s Otakon Haul: Digimon Frontier Hits HD Blu-ray With Classics

Home-video collectors got a late-night feast at Otakon 2026: boutique licensor Discotek Media unveiled a sprawling slate of Blu-ray releases, with Digimon Frontier—the fourth Digimon TV season—headline-bound for an HD set in October. The Frontier disc will ship with the English dub first, while a subtitled edition follows later, continuing Discotek’s franchise restoration push after earlier Tamers plans.

The same panel packed the year with fan-favorite re-ups. Toradora! returns in October with sub, dub, and the extras from the old NIS America set. Kunihiko Ikuhara’s Mawaru Penguindrum lands the same month on a new 24p encode with “heavy video improvements,” and The Big O both seasons join October’s wave—Season 2 carrying the English 5.1 mix.

Classic comedy and crime get equal love. Pani Poni Dash! is back on SD Blu-ray with Japanese audio, subs, and the original English dub; Lupin III: Part II compresses all 155 episodes into one SD set with every existing dub; and Samurai Pizza Cats is remastered in HD for a dub-first 52-episode release, with a Japanese-subbed version later. A third Digimon Movies collection adds the Frontier film (dub restored), the Savers movie, and Digital Monster X-Evolution.

Also on the board for later in 2026: Tales of the Abyss, Patlabor TV, OVAs and movies, Infinite Ryvius, Argento Soma, Memories on 4K UHD, Outlanders, and the net prequel Lupin the IIIrd: Zenigata and the Two Lupins. October pre-orders are already live through MediaOCD—proof that physical anime licensing still thrives when the vault is this deep.
