Synopsis
Set during ancient China's chaotic Warring States period—where power constantly shifted among countless kingdoms—"Kingdom" takes place amid relentless conflict. Out of this turmoil, seven major states eventually rise to dominate the land. In the state of Qin, Xin, an orphaned slave born from war, trains fiercely with his closest friend, Piao. Both boys share a dream: to become Great Generals of the Heavens. Their bond is tested when Piao is suddenly summoned to serve in the palace under a royal retainer. After a violent coup, Piao returns to Xin in critical condition, entrusting him with a secret mission that leads to an encounter with Ying Zheng—the young ruler of Qin, who bears a striking resemblance to Piao. "Kingdom" follows Xin's journey through treacherous and violent historical events, driven by his unyielding determination to forge his own path toward greatness and fulfill his destiny as a Great General among the Seven Warring States.
