The Mach is a racing vehicle equipped with a new engine called "X," specially developed and constructed by a man named Kenichi Hibiki, who was both a racing driver and a motor engineer. However, during a test drive conducted before its completion, he was involved in an accident and presumed dead. Meanwhile, his father Daisuke, who had been observing the test drive the entire time, recovered the wrecked car as a memento of his son. A few years later, the damaged car rebuilt by him is revived as the new Mach and enters the Grand Prix. This time, however, to protect the driver from potential accidents, the new car is fitted with a safety system called "Safety Seven," featuring seven protective devices. Additionally, it is equipped with the engine "X," which miraculously survived the tragic accident. Now, its driver is Go, Kenichi's younger brother, who is determined to carry on his brother's will. Indeed, he successfully participates in the Grand Prix and continues to grow into a top racer on the world stage.
