Synopsis
On the colonized planet of Mars, human children have been supplanted by robotic servants called dolls. Layla, a capable warrior haunted by a sorrowful history, roams the globe. She is joined by Nei, an enigmatic doll with unexplained connections to her, and Speedy, a doll breeder. Viewing the group as a danger to their society, the Martian founders repeatedly assault Layla and Nei, causing fragments of their obscure past and future to gradually surface.
