Synopsis
By 2020, technology permeates every aspect of life, linking all digital devices worldwide through a single data network. Unbeknownst to humanity, this network has become the habitat for beings called Digimon. Taichi Yagami, a fifth-grader getting ready for summer camp, witnesses strange phenomena in Tokyo as electronic systems malfunction. After finding his mother and sister trapped on a runaway train, he heads to the station and is suddenly transported to another world. There, he encounters Agumon, a creature who already knows his name, and receives a Digivice that connects him to the undigitized realm. Taichi realizes he is in the Network, where virus-like Digimon are attacking the infrastructure supporting Tokyo’s electronics. Taichi and Agumon must stop these cyberattacks to prevent mischievous Digimon from threatening the entire world.
