Banished True Saint LN Locks 2027 TV Anime at Tsumugi Akita

The long-running light novel series Because I, the True Saint, was Banished, that Country is Done For! is heading to television. A fresh official site and social rollout confirmed a 2027 broadcast window, complete with a teaser key visual and the first look at the production’s core creative team.
Masumi Tazawa will voice Eliane, the genuine saint cast out of her homeland after a false rival and a fickle prince strip her of status and engagement. Taku Yashiro plays Nigel, the neighboring crown prince whose chance meeting with her rewrites both of their paths. The setup mixes cozy recovery fantasy with the classic “banished saint, doomed kingdom” turnaround that built the series’ following on Shōsetsuka ni Narō and in Kodansha’s K Lanove Books line.
Tsukasa Sakurai directs at Tsumugi Akita Anime Lab, with series composition by Naoki Tozuka and character designs by Naru Nishikōri—names recently tied to I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince. Original illustrator Pukyunosuke and manga artist Mokuba Matsu also shared celebration art for the greenlight. English readers already have Matsu’s manga via Kodansha USA and K Manga while the anime pipeline spins up for next year.
